How long does the citizenship interview take after fingerprints?

I went to get my fingerprints for my us citizenship on April 2008. Does anyone know how long it takes for the next step for interview for the citizenship? I have not recieved any phone call or letter regarding this.I wanted to knowif anyone knew about how long it takes, I live in charlotte NC. Does anyone know in this state what is the estimated wait until the citizenshiip interview?

check on http://www.uscis.gov for time. i n new york i think these days is like 10 months or something

It varies, anything from three months to up to two years or more. You can track your application’s progress on the http://www.USCIS.gov website.
